- 1 cup sugar
- 1 lemon zested
- 1/2 cup melted butter
- 2 eggs
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- vanilla extract
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 cup cornmeal
- 1 1/4 cup flour
Preheat oven to 350° F.
Grease and flour a 9 by 5 loaf pan or grease and line with parchment paper.
Zest your lemon and mix it into the sugar in a large bowl.
Add the wet ingredients and mix well.
Then add the dry ingredients except for flour. Whisk that in last when everything looks smooth.
Pour batter into prepared pan and bake for 50 minutes or an hour.
Cool slightly and then serve it with butter.
