Ingredients

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 lemon zested
  • 1/2 cup melted butter
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 cup cornmeal
  • 1 1/4 cup flour

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350° F.
  • Grease and flour a 9 by 5 loaf pan or grease and line with parchment paper.
  • Zest your lemon and mix it into the sugar in a large bowl.
  • Add the wet ingredients and mix well.
  • Then add the dry ingredients except for flour. Whisk that in last when everything looks smooth.
  • Pour batter into prepared pan and bake for 50 minutes or an hour.
  • Cool slightly and then serve it with butter.
