This low sugar apple crisp recipe uses honey and vanilla for sweetness but that doesn't mean it's not delicious! You can enjoy it guilt free!

Ingredients

  • 1.5 cup whole wheat flour
  • 2 cup oats
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla
  • 1 1/4 cup butter melted
  • 1 cup honey
  • 4-6 apples cored, peeled and sliced thin
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F.
  • Peel, core and slice the apples.
  • Sprinkle them with water and lemon juice and 1 teaspoon cinnamon.
  • Spread apples in the bottom of a 13" by 9" baking dish.
  • In a bowl, mix together melted butter, honey, vanilla.
  • Add in baking soda, salt, flour, nutmeg, cinnamon and oats.
  • Once mixed well, spread over top of apples.
  • Bake for 25 minutes and serve warm.
