  • 2 1/4 cup whole wheat flour
  • 4 1/2 tablespoon cocoa
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 cup melted vegan butter or coconut oil
  • 1 1/2 tablespoon vinegar
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla
  • 1 1/2 cup cold water
  • 1/2 cup vegan chocolate chips
  • Icing of your choice


  • Place first five ingredients in an ungreased 9" by 13" baking pan. Mix together.
  • Make 3 holes in the batter. In the first one pour your oil or butter. The next one, add the vinegar. And the last one, pour the vanilla.
  • Quickly pour the cold water and chocolate chips over it all and stir well.
  • Bake at 360F for 30 minutes.
