Sourdough French Toast

Sourdough French Toast is a super simple recipe that has 7 ingredients and takes 20 minutes to make!

Ingredients

  • 4 eggs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla
  • 8 slices sourdough bread

Instructions

  • Beat eggs together in a large shallow dish. (Glass pie plate or baking dish works great!)
  • Add milk, cinnamon, nutmeg, heavy cream and vanilla and beat together.
  • Soak each bread slice really well in the egg mixture, flipping over to coat both sides.
  • Melt some butter in a pan on medium heat.
  • Add 2 slices of the bread to the pan. Cook for 2 minutes or until golden brown.
  • Flip the French toast and cook the other side an additional 2 minutes.
  • Serve warm with toppings of your choice.
